The purpose of the Marion Residents Association, as a democratic, non-party political body is to:
• Act as an advocate for the residents of the City of Marion, South Australia, on identified issues and concerns.
• Represent the views of the community at local, state and federal government levels.
• Take a proactive role in ensuring the preservation, development and maintenance of Marion’s character and amenities, these including:
o Streetscapes, parks & open spaces;
o Public & historic buildings;
o Local sporting facilities; and
o Parking & traffic management.
• Protect the natural environment and encourage sympathetic development by promoting well thought through public management of residential, recreational and public area.
• Act in a way that contributes to the health and well being of the community.
• Work collaboratively and in partnership with other local groups on issues of mutual interest.
• Fostering the sharing of information.
• Promote and advocate for the rights of residents to participate in all planning and development processes affecting our residents.
